The Local Government Hispanic Network is the leading support organization for Hispanic local government professionals. The Network operates in two ways: as a forum for individuals who are interested in programs and issues related to the Hispanic population and as a consortium of local governments that serve a significant Hispanic population.
Benefits of Membership
Membership in the LGHN is limited to
- Individuals who are actively working in local government or are retired from a local government career;
- Individuals who are active and retired education professionals of schools of public administration;
- Individuals who are active and retired non-profit professionals of local government professional associations; and
- Full-time students of public administration*.

Members are the strength of any association. As a result of joining the LGHN, you will become a part of a network of professionals working in local government. Listing in the LGHN Membership Directory
Through LGHN membership, you will join a growing list of local government professionals whose contact information is published in an annual membership directory. This directory and membership list is an invaluable networking tool. The directory is also available to executive recruitment firms seeking candidates for competitive recruitment and job placements.
Education
Our LGHN conferences and workshops seek to bring the latest information to you about local government practices, trends, topics and issues. These events provide you an opportunity to communicate with other professionals working in local government and related professions. Additional member services are provided such as personal financial planning and access to career development coaches. The LGHN website will provide you with articles and reports relevant to local government issues and our electronic newsletters provides the latest information about members, local news, best practice programs, and linkages to employment opportunities.
Other Affiliate Service Opportunities
LGHN members are often sought by other related organizations such as the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). LGHN members participate in these organizations in order to provide insight and representation in committees focused on topics relevant to local government management and issues.
